" ... few bands have produced instrumental virtuosos
who can follow the lead of newgrass icons like Sam Bush,
Tony Rice and David Grisman ... The Waybacks, on the
other hand, feature hot pickers who are destined to
become revered new-acousticians, thanks to their individual
solo styles and the band's novel and irreverent tenor."
- Scott Nygaard, ACOUSTIC GUITAR MAGAZINE
What better way to introduce the upcoming concert with Stevie
Coyle, the fingerstyle, rhythm guitarist and vocalist
of the Waybacks!
Saturday, March 10 is the date, 7
p.m. is the time and Happy
Dog Pizza Co. Wood Oven Bistro at 55 5th Street is the place.
Take advantage of the venue and the new updated menu. Make
dinner reservations (408-847-7575) or show up early and take
your chances. Owner Steve Gearing will be more than happy
to show off the new interior that's taken place at Happy
Dog.
Now, on to the concert
It's an evening with Stevie Coyle! An evening of great guitar,
comedy and drama. Comedy and drama??? You bet,'cuz Stevie
is much more than a guitarist and vocalist, Stevie Coyle
is a former stage and television actor with the quick
wit of a stand up comic.
Stevie's shared the stage with Sam Bush, Alison Krauss & Union
Station with Jerry Douglas in a tribute to the music of Tony
Rice, Blue Highway, Cherryholmes, Elvis Costello, John
Cowan Band, Donna T. Buffalo, Jerry Douglas, The Duhks, Béla
Fleck, Paul Geremia, John Hammond, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver,
Del McCoury Band, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Peter Rowan & Tony
Rice Quartet, Darrell Scott, the Legendary Earl Scruggs with
Family & Friends, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives,
Pam Tillis, and that list goes on.
Don't miss this fun-filled musical experience. Just finishing
a brief vacation before hitting the next road tour with The
Waybacks, and coming off great reviews of their 4th CD, From
The Pasture To The Future, Stevie is primed and ready to
perform - just for you and Gilroy Guitar Gallery.
