Hello Gilroy Guitar Gallery customers, fans, and friends! Yes, you’ve read that greeting before. However, it still stands as a full-blown, lung aching, Hello Y’all!

Hill and Longley Concert Review
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kenny Hill not only makes a magnificent instrument, his playing was terrific! When he went into Scarlatti - we couldn’t believe it! AND HE DID IT STANDING UP! (A quick note: the beautiful Torres guitar that he showed on stage is now available at Gilroy Guitar Gallery. This is an example of the guitar that led to the great instruments that you now play. It’s such a great sounding and beautiful instrument that I hope to have one for myself someday.)
Robby Longley - WOW! His fingers, and hands, danced around that guitar as if they were flamenco dancers. The tone, the passion, the melodies that he played was mesmerizing. This is a GREAT player. He evoked empathy, romance, and conflict as he played. He will be back! Don’t let anyone miss him!
Here’s a little background on Pat Kirtley: National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion Pat Kirtley is a recording artist, composer, and touring performer. Musical styles include traditional, country, jazz and celtic. Browse the site for info on Pat, and resources for acoustic guitarists. This National Fingerstyle Champion’s musical roots are from the southern country and bluegrass tradition, but it is his original material that places him on the cutting edge of new acoustic music. His repertoire is one that defies categorization, weaving tunes into a tapestry of folk, pop, celtic, and down- home country, translated to the guitar with honesty, humor and depth. Some quotes from reviews: "One of the 'magnificent seven' fingerstyle guitarists... an acoustic chop-squad of the 1990's" Acoustic Guitar Magazine “He is among the new trailblazers—the bold ones who will take the guitar into the next century” John Schroeter—publisher, Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine "The Sunday evening concert by Pat Kirtley was incredible—a flock of fans including many of the area's top guitarists showed up to watch a demonstration of instrumental mastery... what a great show!" Fiddler's Dream, Phoenix Arizona Pat Kirtley is one of nine clinicians appearing at Taylor Guitar Company's authorized dealers around the USA and Europe.
*Taylor Guitar clinics are designed to bring innovative guitar artists to audiences of guitarists and are co- sponsored by Taylor and it's dealers. The audience is afforded a relaxed, up-close, and personal environment with the artist, and Taylor's fine guitars are shown at their best. Selected as one of Acoustic Guitar magazine's "30 essential new acoustic artists," Pat Kirtley is an important creator and interpreter of modern acoustic fingerstyle guitar. While Pat's original compositions and arrangements showcase the vitality of neo- traditional picking, he incorporates virtuosic technique, pop lyricism, deadpan wit, wistful balladry, and Irish/Celtic influences into a very contemporary- sounding repertoire. Pat has numerous well-received CD and video releases on Narada Media, Rounder, Vestapol Videos, and Mainstring Records. This National Fingerstyle Champion is currently touring and producing new guitar music, and presents workshops for selected Taylor dealers within his traveling schedule.
